Responsibilities
- Contribute to transport sector assessments, demand studies and modeling, infrastructure plans, financial and economic analysis, emissions estimates, institutional modernization, fare and ticketing analysis, and logistics corridor studies.
- Support project preparation and supervision, including project documentation, investment identification and appraisal, risk and mitigation analysis, critical-path planning, fiduciary inputs, quality control, procurement and contracting support, mission logistics, and reporting.
- Provide analytical inputs to multidisciplinary knowledge products, including country strategies, growth and jobs reports, damage and needs assessments, and climate and development diagnostics.
- Support policy dialogue and communicate technical findings through concise briefs, presentations, workshops, and other engagements with government counterparts, WBG management, private sector partners, international organizations, and civil society.
- Build effective collaboration across the World Bank Group and with external partners to advance business development, knowledge exchange, and private sector participation.
- Manage multiple assignments with limited supervision, exercising sound judgment, initiative, and attention to deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum of a master’s degree in transport planning, engineering, economics, finance, urban or regional planning, architecture, mathematics, natural sciences, or another relevant field.
- 2-6 years of relevant professional experience in transport operations, advisory services, analytics, infrastructure planning, or related development work.
- Demonstrated interest in international development and commitment to the World Bank Group mission, values, and integrity standards.
- Relevant experience in one or more transport subsectors, such as urban mobility, roads, railways, maritime transport and ports, aviation, logistics, or multimodal connectivity.
- Ability to translate complex technical analysis into clear written products and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary teams while independently managing tasks and parallel priorities.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of a relevant regional language is an advantage.
