The role supports Board effectiveness, corporate governance, and institutional accountability through process simplification, automation, and governance policy development.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Board effectiveness, corporate governance, institutional accountability, and SEC modernization by supporting process simplification, automation, knowledge management, and improved tools for managing Board and Committee workflows and records.
- Contribute to the preparation, coordination, and follow-up of Board and Committee meetings, including conducting document review and preparing timely and clear Committee and Board materials and keeping track of Board and Committee recommendations and Management commitments.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of governance policies, rules, and procedures that enable Executive Directors’ offices and their staff to operate effectively as a unified Board.
- Support the learning team to design, coordinate, and deliver learning opportunities and resources for SEC staff, Board Officials, and their teams, in collaboration with WBG institutions and Vice Presidencies.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the SEC leadership team.
Requirements
- Minimum of a master’s degree in a related field.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in public policy, international relations, law, economics, political science, governance, public administration, business administration, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in the WBG mission, corporate governance, Board operations, accountability, and shareholder roles in multilateral institutions.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with ability to assess complex policy, operational, and governance documents, identify key issues and risks, and provide concise advice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills under tight deadlines.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy, with ability to handle sensitive matters.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to manage priorities, coordinate across teams, track commitments, and deliver high-quality work.
- Strong collaboration and client-service orientation, with a collegial style and ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural WBG teams.
- Proven ability to use digital tools and information systems to support knowledge management, process simplification, automation, data organization, and access to Board records.
- Fluency in English.
