See your match score & applyThe World Bank Group's WBG Pioneers Internship Program offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience in global development. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to environmental and social risk management digital systems and contribute to tools supporting accountability and community protection in Bank-financed projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Product Owner in gathering, documenting, and refining business requirements and user stories for E&S digital systems
- Assist in translating stakeholder needs into structured requirement documents (BRDs), use cases, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering sessions with business and technical teams
- Help maintain and prioritize the product backlog in coordination with development teams
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination and feedback consolidation
- Innovate with team on the future of AI in E&S systems and build proof of concepts (POCs)
- Rapid prototyping with AI technologies to validate proof of concepts, systems and workflows
Requirements
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate or postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program; Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or STEM related fields
- Candidates must have 0–6 years of relevant professional experience
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum concepts and product management practices is a plus
- Familiarity with business process modelling concepts and tools (Flowcharts, use cases, databases, etc.)
- Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role
