See your match score & applyThe Project Manager position is responsible for leading the Building Engineers team in daily operations, ensuring alignment with organizational standards, and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives in real estate engineering projects. The role involves leadership, operational oversight, safety compliance, training, and coordination with stakeholders for capital projects at the World Bank headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team of Building Engineers in daily operations ensuring successful delivery of their work program.
- Provide direct supervision to Engineering Supervisors and indirect oversight for operating engineers and mechanics.
- Establish leadership hierarchy ensuring accountability and effective communication.
- Lead workforce planning including staffing models, scheduling, and overtime management.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and succession planning.
- Promote consistency in engineering practices aligned with organizational standards.
- Address performance issues promptly and fairly.
- Supervise daily operations, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and central plant infrastructure.
- Ensure frontline activities are managed and operational challenges addressed.
- Monitor system reliability, performance, and energy efficiency implementing improvements.
- Escalate critical system issues and coordinate cross-functional support.
- Oversee preventive maintenance program implementation and ensure timely completion of PMs and service work orders.
- Track equipment performance and maintenance trends using Tririga IWMS data.
- Standardize work order management procedures and reporting.
- Provide direction and oversight for engineering safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and lead incident response efforts.
- Advocate for a proactive, behavior-based safety culture.
- Design and oversee technical and safety training programs for engineering personnel.
- Identify skill gaps and implement development plans.
- Ensure adherence to certifications, licenses, and continuing education.
- Foster leadership growth within supervisory team.
- Act as principal engineering contact for capital projects, tenant improvements, and system upgrades.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide technical review and input during planning and execution phases.
- Support enterprise-level engineering initiatives as directed by senior leadership.
Requirements
- Master's degree with 5 years relevant experience or bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (Engineering, Architecture, Business, Interior Design Construction Management, etc).
- Must possess a 3rd class DC Steam Engineer’s license.
- Ability to design, create, read and translate design documents, construction drawings and specifications into a statement of work for bidding potential projects.
- Proven ability to supervise, coach and train others in the performance of all duties and functions associated with plant operations.
- Proven ability to bring project work to an efficient/timely conclusion.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, diverse multi-cultural environment.
- Working knowledge/understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferably Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
- Working knowledge and experience in facilities management systems and work order management programs (i.e. Tririga, Maximo, etc).
