Knowledge Management Consultant

The Knowledge Management Consultant will provide technical support to strengthen information and knowledge management within the Health Emergencies Programme. Responsibilities include developing and standardizing information products, strengthening knowledge repositories, documenting lessons learned, and supporting learning and capacity-building activities to enhance emergency preparedness and response.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the development and maintenance of standardized and quality-assured information management products and tools.
• Review existing information management products, templates and reporting tools and identify opportunities for standardization, harmonization and improvement.
• Develop, revise and standardize agreed information management templates, SOPs, reporting tools and guidance materials.
• Provide technical support to the production and quality assurance of selected information products, including situation reports, bulletins, technical briefs, presentations and other operational knowledge products.
• Review and organize existing knowledge resources and document repositories relevant to the Health Emergencies Programme.
• Provide technical support to the development and maintenance of an accessible and user-friendly centralized knowledge repository.
• Prepare periodic updates on the status, use and gaps of knowledge repositories and document management systems.
• Support the identification, documentation and compilation of lessons learned, good practices, after-action reviews and operational experiences.
• Provide technical support to the development and dissemination of learning products based on documented organizational knowledge.
• Provide technical support to the establishment or strengthening of a structured mechanism for capturing, organizing and sharing institutional knowledge.
• Provide technical support to the assessment and documentation of learning and capacity-building needs related to information management, epidemic intelligence and knowledge management.
• Provide technical support to the development, updating and quality assurance of training and learning materials.
• Support implementation and evaluation of selected learning activities.

Requirements

• First university degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Information Management, Knowledge Management, Health Informatics, Information Management, Social Sciences, Communications, Education, International Development or another relevant field.
• Desirable: advanced university degree in public health and additional qualifications or professional training in knowledge management, information management, learning and development, public health emergencies, epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, or related areas.
• Up to 5 years of relevant professional experience in information management, knowledge management, public health, emergency preparedness and response, organizational learning, capacity development or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing information and knowledge products, including reports, technical briefs, SOPs, templates, guidance and learning materials.
• Excellent technical writing, editing, proofreading and documentation skills.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex technical information into concise, clear and user-friendly products.
• Strong information and knowledge management skills.
• English: Expert level – reading, writing and speaking.
• Arabic: Intermediate or higher level is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
