See your match score & applyThe HR Assistant supports outreach, recruitment, and selection activities within the WHO Health Emergencies Programme in Ukraine. The role involves assisting in sourcing candidates, managing recruitment processes, organizing interviews, and maintaining HR records and correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying the best and most appropriate outreach activities to target talent.
- Source potential candidates through various channels such as career events, job fairs, and online platforms.
- Manage job postings and social media to target the right candidates.
- Assist in recruitment activities including drafting vacancy notices and screening applicants.
- Arrange interviews, testing, and prepare recruitment panel files and logistics.
- Conduct reference searches and enter candidate profiles in GSM.
- Prepare selection panel reports and background for submission to approving authority.
- Provide assistance and accurate information to staff members and applicants during selection or reassignment.
- Liaise with the Global Service Centre on staffing cases and candidate queries.
- Maintain tracking systems, records, databases, and statistics for recruitment cases.
- Draft reports, messages, and formal HR correspondence.
- Organize meetings, teleconferences, and selection panels with related logistics.
- Act as focal point for administrative questions related to recruitment and HR topics.
- Liaise with different WHO Clusters to share information and develop contacts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary school supplemented by training in administrative/HR work.
- Additional relevant higher education an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HR or administrative work.
- Two years' recent experience in a WHO or UN administrative division, preferably in the area of Human Resources, to have a sound knowledge of the Staff Regulations and Staff Rules, procedures and practices as related to the work.
- Strong analytical skills and good sense of judgement.
- Ability to draft in English neatly, concisely and grammatically correct.
- Very good organization skills.
- High sense of prioritization and attention to details.
- Discretion and tact; ability to handle and preserve confidential information.
- Ability to liaise with people at all levels in the Organization and to proactively search for information.
- Ability to plan ahead and at the same time work well under pressure.
- Customer orientation, cultural sensitivity and good business ethics.
- Self-motivated, flexible and able to innovate.
- Good knowledge of WHO rules, procedures and office practices is desirable.
