See your match score & applyThe Consultant National en Nutrition publique G5 will lead the revision, formulation, and drafting of the National Strategic Nutrition Plan and the protocol for the management of Severe Acute Malnutrition in Equatorial Guinea. The role involves coordinating multisectoral consultations, integrating WHO recommendations, and producing final validated documents to improve nutrition outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough review of existing documents, studies, surveys and strategic frameworks related to nutrition in the country.
- Support, in collaboration with the international expert, the development of the current nutrition situation analysis report identifying gaps, challenges and opportunities with a multisectoral approach.
- Facilitate technical consultations with nutrition-sensitive sectors (health, agriculture, education, social protection, hygiene and sanitation).
- Draft, under supervision of the international expert, a National Strategic Nutrition Plan based on evidence and results-oriented.
- Integrate WHO international recommendations into the strategic framework.
- Review national and international clinical guidelines on acute malnutrition according to the latest WHO 2023 recommendations.
- With support from the WHO international nutrition expert, draft a national standardized protocol for prevention, identification, clinical management, follow-up and referral of severe acute malnutrition cases at all health system levels.
- Organize and facilitate validation workshops with the Ministry of Health and technical partners.
- Incorporate received contributions and produce final versions of the two documents.
Requirements
- Diplôme universitaire en sante publique, nutrition, politiques sociales ou disciplines connexes.
- Doctorat en médecine (MPH) ou politique de la santé is desirable.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in nutrition and public health, including experience in developing national nutrition policies, plans or strategies and multisectoral programmatic frameworks.
- Confirmed experience in management of severe acute malnutrition, including revision or development of clinical protocols, technical guidelines or normative documents aligned with WHO recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with sectoral ministries, technical and financial partners.
- Experience in situational analysis, facilitation of technical consultations and validation workshops.
- Experience working in a national or sub-regional context is an asset.
- Experience with WHO or other UN/international organizations is desirable.
- Strong expertise in public health nutrition, especially severe acute malnutrition.
- Good knowledge of WHO recommendations and national health system and multisectoral nutrition approach.
- Proven skills in situational analysis, drafting strategic documents and clinical protocols, collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, communication, professional rigor and results orientation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Spanish and/or French; knowledge of English is an asset.
- Proficiency in economic, budgetary analysis and financial modeling tools.
