See your match score & applyThe Communication Associate supports the Communications unit in creating audiovisual materials, providing design guidance, and coordinating media events to increase awareness of health issues and enhance WHO's visibility in the Western Pacific Region. The role involves managing graphic design, video production, and event setup to support policy advocacy and public health communication.
Responsibilities
- Create audiovisual materials for COM and other units in Regional and country offices, from concept to final delivery, considering objectives, audience, distribution, timeline, and budget.
- Provide design guidance for corporate communications, campaigns, and advocacy materials, and create designs according to approved specifications and deadlines.
- Deliver web- and print-ready files for infographics, posters, brochures, backdrops, calendars, branding, videos, and more.
- Provide technical advice to the Regional and country offices in all phases of studio and video production—pre-production, filming, and post-production, ensuring quality outputs that meet their needs, in consultation with the supervisor.
- Coordinate and set up interviews and other events for TV, radio, social media, and other platforms, including studio or on-location preparation, stage/background design, graphics, equipment, and transmission for live or recorded broadcasts.
- Contribute to the planning and undertake setting up major events with a communications focus, such as the Regional Committee’s audiovisual needs, news conferences, campaigns, and exhibits, including photography, video coverage, or coordination with external suppliers.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary education, with additional training in the creation of audiovisual products.
- University degree in communications, film, multimedia, visual arts or related area is desirable.
- At least eight (8) years of relevant work experience supporting audiovisual communication, preferably in a large organization.
- Experience working in the UN system is desirable.
- Manage graphic design, photography, video production, live-streaming, and studio/stage setup.
- Deliver high-quality work on deadlines, with creativity, organization, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Adaptable to diverse environments and maintains professional standards.
- Flexible and open to suggestions and changes. Can work effectively and efficiently within a limited timeframe.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking) and local language.
