The Assistant Logistique supports the WHO country office in Burkina Faso by strengthening the logistics unit to ensure efficient preparation and response to health and security emergencies. The role involves managing strategic stock supplies, coordinating logistics operations, and supporting administrative and operational activities related to emergency preparedness and response.

Responsibilities

  • Support logistics operations related to health and security emergencies.
  • Ensure availability and rapid deployment of strategic inputs such as laboratory reagents, medical kits, medicines, PPE, and other supplies for emergency interventions.
  • Monitor scheduling of shipments by air.
  • Participate in stock prepositioning and monitoring according to WHO procedures.
  • Support logistics tracking for epidemic, disaster, and emergency response operations in collaboration with technical teams and partners.
  • Ensure traceability and proper storage and transport conditions of sensitive health products.
  • Contribute to logistics needs assessment and contingency and response planning.
  • Produce periodic reports on strategic stock status, emergency input movements, and logistical constraints.
  • Participate in logistics activities to strengthen emergency preparedness and response at country and regional levels.
  • Manage reception of organizational goods: consolidate needs, submit requests for approval, receive goods, and deliver to beneficiaries.
  • Identify and report discrepancies between delivery notes, purchase orders, and received goods.
  • Update tracking tools and produce monthly and quarterly reports on received goods and consumables.
  • Involve technical specialists in receiving specific goods and consumables.
  • Inform order initiators of receipt and ensure delivery to final recipients.
  • Establish signed delivery notes to facilitate payment processing.
  • Report discrepancies between ordered and received goods to supervisor.
  • Verify invoice compliance before certification for payment.
  • Manage country office stores and consumable stocks: receive supply requests, prepare deliveries, update management tools, analyze and recommend renewals or acquisitions, monitor stock movements, ensure proper storage conditions, and produce reports.
  • Manage donations and secure supply for field teams.
  • Handle arrival notices, customs exemptions, special import authorizations, customs clearance, and cargo removal operations.
  • Receive and control conformity of goods with freight forwarders, store and distribute goods, reagents, medical kits, etc.
  • Pick and prepare orders for beneficiaries and field teams.
  • Ensure storage and stock management comply with WHO standards and health product conservation requirements.
  • Adhere to WHO procedures for stock management, transport, and distribution of health products.
  • Perform other logistics, supply chain, and emergency operations tasks as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bac + 3 ans or BTS in a technical field applied to Logistics or management.
  • Desirable: Diploma in Logistics training.
  • Minimum 8 years of practical and relevant experience in logistics or stock management.
  • Desirable: Experience working with multiple partners, UN agencies, NGOs, etc.
  • Desirable: Experience in emergency contexts is an asset.
  • Reliable and rigorous.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team respecting procedures.
  • Adherence to WHO rules.

  • Excellent knowledge of French.
