Storekeeper Assistant

The Storekeeper Assistant supports warehouse operations by assisting in the receipt, dispatch, and verification of goods to maximize quality and minimize losses. The role involves applying best stock management practices in line with WFP standards under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving and dispatching goods, including transshipment between trucks, referring to approved official documents to ensure accurate physical counting and quality compliance.
• Prepare and verify storage and transport documents, manage confidential files and accurate data on warehouse operations to promptly report product movements as per WFP requirements.
• Assist in daily stock reconciliations and verifications at warehouse closing to support internal control systems.
• Conduct daily inspections and report on quantity and quality of goods received/dispatched/handled, requesting actions from supervisors as needed.
• Help apply appropriate food and non-food item protection measures to ensure quality control using standard prevention measures following WFP procedures and supervisor authorization.
• Monitor warehouse and goods condition and take appropriate measures to efficiently use storage space and methodically store goods according to WFP standards.

Requirements

• Have completed secondary education. A post-secondary certificate/diploma in warehousing or logistics is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in logistics, mainly in warehouse operations.
• Experience in monitoring various aspects of logistics operations.
• Experience supporting warehouse management.
• Experience supporting inventory management.
• Experience in data entry and generating periodic reports.
• Proficiency in French at level C.
