Stagiaire - Appui à la section "Préparation et Réponse aux Urgences"

The internship offers practical experience in WFP programme management, specifically in emergency preparedness and response. The intern will support ongoing activities and specific projects, developing skills in programme management, analysis, and humanitarian work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to logistical and operational preparation (meetings, workshops, missions) of Programme Unit activities.
• Participate in data collection and analysis on disaster risk management, humanitarian and development issues, climate hazards and impacts.
• Produce reports, summary notes and recommendations to improve the speed and effectiveness of interventions.
• Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs and international partners to strengthen coordination.
• Contribute to project development and financial proposals.
• Support internal coordination within the Programme Unit and with other WFP Madagascar Units.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate programme in disaster risk management at Bac+4/+5 level or recently graduated within six months prior to application, having taken courses in the last 12 months of university enrollment.
• Good analytical, synthesis and writing skills.
• Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good command of Malagasy and French languages.
• English language skills are an asset.
• Organizational skills, listening, autonomy and team spirit.
• Strong interest in humanitarian, climate and resilience topics.
• Experience (including internship/volunteering) with government DRM agencies or UN/NGO agencies is an added value but not mandatory.
• Candidate must be Malagasy national.
