This internship offers practical learning opportunities in graphic design and communication within the Human Resources unit of WFP in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The intern will support the preparation of simple HR communication materials while developing skills in visual communication in a multicultural professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing simple visual materials such as posters, flyers, banners, certificates, internal announcements, and visuals for HR campaigns.
  • Support adaptation of existing templates respecting WFP brand guidelines.
  • Prepare simple visuals using Canva and/or other approved design tools under supervision.
  • Assist in layout of PowerPoint presentations, notes, tables, fact sheets, and other materials used by the HR Unit.
  • Propose simple visual improvement ideas integrating feedback and guidelines.
  • Support preparation of short messages, announcements, and materials related to HR activities.
  • Contribute to preparation of materials for recruitment, onboarding, learning, and staff engagement activities.
  • Help ensure clear, coherent, and professional presentation of HR documents.
  • Proofread materials for visual consistency, basic spelling, and formatting clarity.
  • Assist in preparing visual materials needed for meetings, workshops, trainings, campaigns, and other HR activities.
  • Support organization of files, templates, photos, and communication materials used by the HR Unit.
  • Contribute to collection and filing of visual content produced during HR activities when required.
  • Perform other simple tasks related to the internship as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program in communication, graphic design, visual communication, multimedia, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • No prior professional experience required; academic, volunteer, personal, or short-term projects related to graphic design, communication, or content creation are an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Canva and/or graphic design applications.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Word.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, ability to learn, teamwork spirit, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and incorporate feedback.
  • Good communication skills and concern for quality deliverables.
  • Fluency in French, both oral and written, is required.
  • Practical knowledge of English is desirable.
