See your match score & applyThe Communications Assistant (Graphic Designer) supports the Communications unit and other units with graphic design and information management to enhance the visual appearance of the country office's knowledge products, reports, briefs, presentations, donor visibility, and social media content. The role includes creating visual materials, video editing, and liaising with provincial offices to support donor visibility and communication strategies.
Responsibilities
- Support the Communications unit with day-to-day activities in information management and graphic design tasks including creating reports, advocacy notes, infographics, briefs, presentations, social media posts, templates, and design artwork.
- Function as in-house video editor for small documentaries and social media content.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Communication and Advocacy Strategy by ensuring high quality design of knowledge products and communication materials.
- Develop infographics for VAM, Programme, Partnerships and Supply Chain teams upon request.
- Liaise with provincial offices on donor visibility and support the development and approval process of visibility material for field use.
- Upgrade the design of briefs and advocacy notes in the existing 'Briefing package' shared by the Country Director with partners and donors.
- Help build the narrative of WFP as a natural partner for food, nutrition, and logistics support for the government of Pakistan through graphic design and visuals.
- Liaise with the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping unit (VAM) on developing an interactive, visual map of WFP's operations.
- Perform other tasks aligned with the role and expertise as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education.
- A post-secondary certificate in Communications, International relations, Mass-media, Business Administration, Political Science or similar is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, International relations, Mass-media, Business Administration, Political Science or similar is an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in graphic design with a solid portfolio of successful deliverables.
- Experience with and knowledge of design works within the development sector is required.
- Previous WFP or UN work experience is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Expert skills in the use of Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Publisher, Canva, Wochit.
- Fluency in English (level C) and Urdu is required.
