The position is responsible for technical work including planning, implementation, and coordination of activities related to cash-based transfers, partner management, and beneficiary identification. The role involves data analysis, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, capacity building, and ensuring compliance with WFP policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized expertise and contribute to development of project activities, plans, and processes within the specific technical area, ensuring alignment with broader program policies and guidelines.
  • Provide efficient coordination and specialized support in project management to various specific programs to ensure activities are carried out within established objectives following WFP policies and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and substantial data analyses (e.g., food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status, performance) and make recommendations to supervisors ensuring deliverables meet corporate standards and quality control.
  • Lead and ensure accurate and timely data recording within the specific technical area (e.g., assistance programs, food security and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal counterparts on complex matters to enable effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Foster relationships and support partnership building with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions to conduct accurate food security analyses and ensure efficient food assistance delivery.
  • Support capacity strengthening of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and national government within the specific technical area.
  • Act as escalation point for resolving complex queries within the area of responsibility.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP can respond rapidly and deploy necessary resources to affected areas at crisis onset.
  • Manage a support staff team providing advice, guidance, and training to ensure individual and team objectives are met within agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with functional units involved in CBT activities and serve as focal point for daily technical and operational support to programmatic and service units.
  • Support efficient and effective implementation of national CBT programs; gather feedback, propose and follow up on planning, implementation, and improvement activities ensuring quality controls per data standards and policies.
  • Conduct training for field offices, other unit staff, and cooperating partners on key CBT implementation concepts.
  • Participate actively in all tender and contracting processes for financial contract providers and maintain ongoing communication for national level implementation.
  • Monitor preparation of sectoral evaluations for each functional unit to define appropriate assistance modalities according to context and implement them in all project phases.
  • Timely management of beneficiary data in all internal mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with key normative documents for CBT program implementation and manage their filing and updating (SOPs, operational guides, evaluations, RACI, etc.).
  • Support preparation of inputs for internal and external meetings and presentations.
  • Compile reports and support data analysis of CBT activities.
  • Serve as alternate participant in CPC providing inputs to field offices on selected transfer modalities.
  • Provide technical support and follow-up on commitments established within the cash working group framework.
  • Support administrative follow-up for program start-up and fund management.
  • Perform other relevant CBT, CP Management, or IDM related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education cycle; post-secondary certificate in relevant functional area is valued.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and/or administration related area.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience using web-based systems and corporate platforms.
  • Solid understanding of administrative operating standards and knowledge of international humanitarian and development issues.
  • Experience facilitating communication with technical teams such as nutrition, vulnerability analysis and mapping (VAM).
  • Experience contributing to program implementation with a high degree of responsibility.
  • Experience contributing to policy discussions.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish; working knowledge of English is desirable.
