See your match score & applyThe Training & Educational Officer supports the Institute's goals on training, education, and degree programs by designing and delivering training programs, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, evaluating training effectiveness, supporting organizational development, and conducting research. The role requires collaboration with internal and external partners to promote sustainable development through education and training.
Responsibilities
- Design and plan training programs aligned with institutional goals and KPIs.
- Conduct training needs assessments through surveys and stakeholder interviews.
- Co-design modules, workshops, and instructional materials in accordance with UNU standards.
- Collaborate with subject experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Organize training schedules, venues, and manage logistical arrangements.
- Establish evaluation criteria to assess training effectiveness.
- Deliver and facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Tailor delivery methods based on audience size, prior knowledge, and real-time feedback.
- Foster interactive learning environments and address participant inquiries.
- Monitor engagement and adjust facilitation techniques to optimize learning outcomes.
- Identify potential clients internally and externally; support marketing of training offerings.
- Serve as primary liaison to understand client needs and ensure successful program delivery.
- Negotiate training contracts under supervision.
- Customize training content and delivery formats to meet client expectations.
- Communicate timelines, logistics, and program details clearly and professionally.
- Develop post-training surveys and performance metrics.
- Collect and analyze feedback, assessments, and performance data to evaluate training outcomes.
- Generate reports on training effectiveness, impact, and return on investment.
- Recommend and implement improvements based on evaluation insights.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and compliance documentation.
- Update training programs in response to priorities of the Institute and clients.
- Prepare and archive training certifications and related documentation.
- Conduct research on emerging trends, best practices, and instructional technologies.
- Review academic literature and industry publications to inform program development.
- Produce research contributions to projects or programmes as instructed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Institute Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, international affairs, business administration, economics, psychology, development studies, public policy; information system, computer science, AI or a related fields.
- At least two (2) years of full-time working experience.
- Proven experience as a trainer, facilitator, or learning & development professional.
- Relevant working experience in higher education institutions, training organizations, corporate learning, governments' education sector, or UN organizations training field will be an asset.
- Proven ability to design instructional materials and adapt content for diverse audiences.
- Knowledge in programme marketing, promotion and contracting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in Generative AI tools are an asset.
- Ability to multi-task work with minimal supervision, within tight deadlines, with a high level of resilience.
- A keen eye for details and problem-solving abilities.
- Good managerial skills to empower a team for good performance.
- Excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Proficiency in English; with strong communication and presentation skills, along with excellent drafting skills.
- Fluency in Chinese is a great asset.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
