Vocational Training Instructor – Aluminum Fabrication and Installation

The Vocational Training Instructor supports the design and delivery of learning programmes and curricula in aluminum fabrication and installation. The role includes facilitating training, preparing assessments, maintaining employer linkages, applying quality assurance, supporting greening and digital initiatives, and collaborating with staff to ensure a respectful and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of learning programmes and curricula including occupational and competency analyses, drafting programme profiles, learning guides and manuals
• Facilitate delivery of school-based and work-based learning programmes including setting up training venues, utilizing facilities and equipment, selecting trainees, preparing inclusive training plans, and employing adult learning strategies
• Prepare student assessments including formative and summative assessments, practice-based and knowledge-based skills tests, and develop assessment sheets and implementation plans
• Maintain linkages with employers, workers, and TVET instructors; collect and utilize labour market information; support skills needs assessments and surveys
• Apply quality assurance tools and processes according to UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework
• Support TVET greening and digitalisation initiatives; assist in designing and implementing green and digital learning programmes
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate teaching and learning, maintain order and discipline, implement co-curricular activities, and support Occupational Health and Safety measures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Successful completion of full Secondary Education plus two years post-secondary technical education or training in Mechanical Engineering
• No experience is required
• English is required at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Arabic is desirable at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Candidates must reside in Syria and be within commuting distance of the duty station with authorization to work in Syria at the time of application
• Contract Type: Daily Paid Assignment for up to three months, with possibility of extension subject to funds, performance, and need
• Grade 9 Daily Rate 25.63$ with possible reduced work schedule
• 1 day Annual Leave and 1 day sick leave for each completed month of service
• Preference given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates of underrepresented gender
