TVET Instructor (Information Techn)

The TVET Instructor supports the design and delivery of technical and vocational education and training programmes in Information Technology. The role includes curriculum development, facilitating learning in various settings, designing assessments, building linkages with employers, applying quality assurance, and supporting greening and digitalization initiatives at UNRWA training centers in Lebanon.

Responsibilities

• Supports the design and development of learning programmes and curricula including organizing and conducting occupational and competency analyses within their area of specialization.
• Drafts programme profiles, learning guides and manuals.
• Assesses and integrates new and emerging technologies into the subject specializations.
• Assists in integrating career guidance and counselling in the learning programmes.
• Facilitates delivery of school-based and work-based learning programmes including designing and preparing training venues, utilizing facilities and equipment, selecting trainees, developing inclusive training plans.
• Facilitates and manages learning in classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and workplaces using adult learning strategies including integration of trainees with disabilities and special learning needs.
• Mainstreams Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills for life and work in learning delivery.
• Designs student assessments including formative and summative assessments, practice-based and knowledge-based skills tests.
• Develops assessment sheets, grids and inclusive skills assessment implementation plans including assessment of core skills and OSH.
• Conducts knowledge and practice-based assessments and tests according to the assessment implementation plan.
• Builds linkages with employers, workers, and TVET instructors in their specializations.
• Collects and utilizes labour market information for training courses.
• Supports conducting and analyzing skills needs and anticipation assessments, employers' surveys, trainees and graduate trace studies to identify skills gaps, needs, and mismatches.
• Applies quality assurance tools and processes across the training cycle according to UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework.
• Supports TVET greening and digitalization initiatives and activities.
• Designs and implements green and digital learning programmes; integrates green and digital skills into training courses.
• Develops and facilitates synchronous and asynchronous training sessions.
• Collaborates with other instructors and staff in coordinating teaching and learning processes, maintaining respectful environment, order and discipline, and implementing co-curricular activities.
• Supports design and implementation of OSH measures and tools and reports on incidents and risks in the Centre.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A university degree of four years from an accredited educational institution in an approved course of study with major specialization in the field of subject taught.
• No experience at this entry level of TVET Instructor (Information Techn.) - grade 11, is required.

• English and Arabic languages required at UN Level II and UN Level I respectively for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
• Contract Type: Daily paid employment with daily rate USD 62.52, subject to reduced work schedule.
• Additional benefits include 1 day of annual leave and 1 day of sick leave for each completed month of service.
• The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency's area of operations.
