Technical Assistant - CAD

The Technical Assistant - CAD is responsible for preparing drafting works using AutoCAD software including site surveys, schematic designs, master plans, and detailed architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical drawings. The role supports the continuous flow of operations and assists in producing designs for remodeling and housing & shelters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all drafting works necessary for site surveys, schematic designs, concept designs, master plans, detailed architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Prepare 3-dimensional presentation drawings, diagrams, charts, and simple graphic works for presentations.
• Produce hard copies of designs and plans for supervisor approval.
• Assist Division Heads in daily operations to ensure continuous flow of activities.
• Produce drawings for remodeling of existing buildings.
• Produce designs and detailed drawings for housing and shelters.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma from an accredited institution in civil, architectural or structural engineering.
• Five years of experience in AutoCAD drawing, drafting and graphic works and 3-dimensional applications.
• Experience in engineering-related office equipment such as plotter, drawing photocopying machine and other relevant ones is required.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
• Candidates must currently reside in the duty station (Amman, Jordan) and specify their current location.
• Advanced knowledge in specialized aided design software is desirable.
• Good knowledge of applying cost-effective designs is desirable.
• Very good understanding of the context of Palestine refugees and UNRWA operations is desirable.
