See your match score & applyThe Senior Staff Nurse acts as the principal nursing officer at the health center, supervising nursing and non-paramedical staff, ensuring smooth operation of electronic medical records, managing supplies, and providing technical support and training. The role includes overseeing infection control, triage nursing services, and participating in health service activities within the Family Health Team Approach.
Responsibilities
- Act as principal nursing officer at the health center and supervise, direct, and provide technical support to nursing and non-paramedical staff
- Ensure smooth running of the electronic medical record system including training, equipment replacement, communication, and backup
- Supervise data collection, analysis, reporting of nursing activities, and follow-up of defaulter patients
- Assist in administration of the health center including control and record keeping of vaccine stock, medical supplies, furniture, equipment, uniforms, stationary, and cleaning supplies
- Direct and participate in all activities including cross-cutting issues to ensure health services are provided within the Family Health Team Approach
- Resume Staff Nurse and midwife responsibilities when not available and perform periodic IUD insertion and checkups
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to nursing and non-paramedical staff, conduct on-the-job training and participate in in-service courses
- Supervise infection control standards to ensure safety of staff and clients, monitor triage nursing services, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and ensure proper medical waste management
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Successful completion of secondary school - A university degree or at least three years in nursing studies from an accredited educational institution
- A valid license to practice nursing in the country of duty station (where applicable)
- At least four years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience as a qualified nurse is required
- One year experience in nursing services at supervisory level is desirable
- Working experience in the provision of primary health care is desirable
- Ability to use computer and understanding of its usage in health applications is desirable
- Candidates must reside in West Bank or Jerusalem and have West Bank or Jerusalem ID (desirable)
- English language proficiency at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking
- Candidates must confirm if they live/reside in West Bank or Jerusalem and provide ID number if applicable
