Head Health Centre B (Fixed Term)

The Head Health Centre B is responsible for managing the health centre in the West Bank field office, providing general outpatient and special health services, supervising medical and para-medical staff, managing supplies, and maintaining relationships with local authorities. The role includes overseeing medical examinations, staff training, and ensuring availability of medicines and medical supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provide general outpatient services and special services including maternal and child health, control of non-communicable diseases, and hospital referrals.
• Perform medical examinations for applicants for special hardship assistance, newly recruited staff, periodic medical examinations, and participate in medical boards.
• Manage the health centre including organization of services, personnel supervision, supply management and reporting.
• Supervise medical, nursing and para-medical staff and evaluate their performance.
• Maintain relationships with local community and local authorities.
• Ensure availability of medicine and medical supplies in terms of quantity, quality and validity; oversee ordering and receipt; raise survey reports for non-operational or expired items and ensure destruction process.
• Participate in on-the-job and in-service training of other staff according to approved plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• A medical degree from an accredited educational institution including an internship of at least twelve-month duration.
• A valid license to practice medicine in the country of duty station (where applicable).
• Desirable: Post-graduate degree or diploma in public health, family health or other related discipline.
• At least five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional working experience is required.
• English language proficiency at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
• Candidates must reside in West Bank or Jerusalem and have authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application.
• Preference given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates of the underrepresented gender.
• Candidates must provide complete and accurate information in the application.
