Electrical Design Engineer supports the preparation of detailed electrical designs for building projects including renewable energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with standards and safety. The role involves contributing to tender documents, providing technical support for electrical alterations, coordinating with construction teams, and assisting in monitoring consultants.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed electrical designs through CAD software for building projects including schools, hospitals, clinics, shelters, warehouses, and rehousing initiatives, including renewable energy and PV projects, ensuring compliance with Agency policies, design criteria, standards, and local and international codes of practice.
- Contribute to the preparation of tender documents related to electrical works, including drafting specifications for non-standard items and preparing relevant descriptions for inclusion in Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
- Provide technical support for electrical alteration works in Agency premises, including preparing assessment technical reports on existing electrical systems, inspections, and remediation requirements.
- Cooperate with construction teams to address electrical design issues during implementation and support updates of electrical drawings to reflect as-built conditions and evolving site requirements.
- Coordinate with other designers to optimize electrical solutions, ensuring safety, integrity, and protection in overall designs and suggest improvements where applicable.
- Assist in drafting Terms of Reference for consultants for electrical works and support their monitoring and supervision to ensure adherence to design criteria and standards.
- Provide inputs for electrical technical reports, design reports, progress weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- A university degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university/institution.
- At least three years of relevant experience in electrical design resources, specifically for drawing and calculations, preferably in public buildings and developmental projects.
- Experience with electrical design software and computer-aided design, such as AutoCAD and other software.
- Candidates must be residing in Amman and within commuting distance of the duty station with authorization to work in Jordan at the time of application.

- Applicants must be registered Palestine refugees or provide relevant documentation if applicable.
- Candidates must respond to questions regarding current residence, relatives in UNRWA, and involvement in outside activities as required.
