The Associate Donor Relations and Project Support Officer supports project management and delivery of REPAC project components including construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure, environmental and social impact monitoring, communication strategy development, and coordination with stakeholders and donors to ensure compliance and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the project manager in ensuring day to day delivery of all REPAC project components including construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure and environmental and social impact of the project.
  • Identifies and anticipates problems or constraints with respect to budget, plans and timelines that may impede timely delivery, quality and goals’ achievement; recommends improvements as needed.
  • Conducts frequent or ad-hoc monitoring visits to field locations ensuring project activities adhere to processes and quality standards.
  • Reviews, enhances and/or develops a communication strategy for the project; leads development of communication materials to increase community awareness and donor visibility.
  • Plans and organizes community and stakeholder outreach meetings to manage expectations.
  • Liaises with external factors including relevant PA line Ministries and departments.
  • Coordinates closely with relevant HQ Departments to ensure compliance with donor requirements, reporting and data consistency, and liaison with key stakeholders to maintain quality assurance across the project cycle.
  • Contributes to project management and planning to improve deliverables, including tracking results against targets and reporting deviations.
  • Contributes to identification of best practices and lessons learnt; identifies areas of improvement using UNRWA monitoring and evaluation tools and corporate reports.
  • Compiles data and drafts reports to internal and external stakeholders including progress and ad-hoc reports.

Requirements

  • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in project management, Engineering, Business Administration, social sciences, international relations, communications or other relevant disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in programme management, project management, monitoring and evaluation, administration or related field.
  • Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System is required.
  • At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of citizenship is required.
  • Indicate your current involvement in any outside activities, including but not limited to employment, independent contractor/freelance consultant, board member, expert group, lobby, public speaking/writing, teaching, conferences, training, press statement, voluntary work, political activity, fundraising/donation for non-UNRWA entity, running for public office, role in political party or orgs, owning business, work for gov./NGO/private company/charity, UNRWA partner/vendor, full/part-time, paid or not.
  • Experience in managing multi-programmatic, infrastructure, shelter, or other similar construction and labor-intensive project is desirable.
  • Working experience with UN agencies, NGOs and civil societies in the field of refugees and/or IDPs operation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
