The Programme Management - Senior Analyst supports the design, coordination, and implementation of strategic initiatives, flagship programmes, and partnerships across the UN Youth Office's workstreams. The role involves programme management, stakeholder engagement, coordination, and advocacy to strengthen youth engagement globally.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of flagship programmes and initiatives led by the UN Youth Office.
  • Contribute to the execution of the UN Youth Office annual workplan, including cross-functional coordination.
  • Support delivery of major youth-focused convenings and engagements, including high-level events during the UN General Assembly and ECOSOC Youth Forum.
  • Assist in developing implementation plans, timelines, and operational workflows for strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement processes across youth-serving organizations and institutional partners.
  • Support operational delivery of partnership workplans including global youth network and communities of practice.
  • Maintain and strengthen stakeholder management systems including partner mapping and engagement tracking.
  • Facilitate coordination with youth constituencies, implementing partners, and ecosystem actors.
  • Support preparation of stakeholder briefings, convening materials, and engagement summaries.
  • Support implementation of the UN Youth Compass initiative and community of practice.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and ecosystem analysis for strategic engagement and partnership-building.
  • Support development of value propositions and coordination models for communities of practice and partner networks.
  • Facilitate coordination with aligned initiatives across the UN system and external actors.
  • Support development and implementation of advocacy initiatives on youth mental health, skills, and civic participation.
  • Facilitate engagements of the Young Leaders for the SDGs recognition scheme.
  • Contribute to influencer engagement strategies and external-facing campaigns.
  • Coordinate outreach with digital creators, youth advocates, and public-facing partners.
  • Draft briefing notes, speaking points, and background materials for senior leadership.
  • Support coordination and engagement with UN system climate partners and youth constituencies.
  • Coordinate meetings, consultations, and follow-up related to youth and climate action.
  • Support Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs on climate-related engagements.
  • Contribute to policy and advocacy inputs connecting youth priorities to climate and sustainability.
  • Support tracking of programme implementation, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain internal coordination tools, stakeholder databases, and reporting frameworks.
  • Contribute to drafting donor updates, internal reports, meeting summaries, and strategic briefs.
  • Capture lessons learned and support knowledge-sharing across initiatives and partnerships.
  • Support data collection and analysis for evidence-based programme planning and partner engagement.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations, public policy, political science, development studies, social sciences, or a related field with two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • OR A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the above fields with four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Progressively responsible experience in programme management, youth affairs, partnerships, policy coordination, or related areas.
  • Experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives or coordinating across diverse partner groups.
  • Experience organizing events, consultations, or strategic convenings.
  • Experience drafting reports, concept notes, briefings, or strategic communications products.
  • Experience working on youth-related issues within the UN system or international organizations (desired).
  • Experience in partnership development with civil society, philanthropy, or private sector actors (desired).
  • Experience in climate-related youth engagement, advocacy campaigns, or community-building initiatives (desired).
  • Familiarity with digital engagement strategies and influencer ecosystems (desired).
