See your match score & applyThe Partnerships Analyst supports the development of new projects, partnership development, resource mobilization, and strategic positioning of UNOPS across North Africa and Indian Ocean SIDS. The role involves identifying business opportunities, cultivating partner relationships, and advancing resource mobilization efforts to contribute to socio-economic transformation.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential project and business opportunities aligned with UNOPS' mandate and strategic priorities.
- Lead development of expressions of interest, concept notes, proposals, and other project development documents.
- Coordinate with internal teams and partners to clarify project requirements and formulate project requests.
- Develop high-level estimates of project scope, effort, and costs.
- Contribute to positioning UNOPS as an implementation partner by articulating capabilities and expertise.
- Prepare partner profiles, opportunity assessments, briefing notes, and presentations for project development discussions.
- Participate in discussions with prospective partners and ensure follow-up of opportunities and commitments.
- Maintain and analyze information on prospective projects and partner intelligence.
- Identify, map, and assess funding and partnership opportunities with governments, UN entities, donors, financial institutions, NGOs, and private sector.
- Contribute to implementation of partnership and resource mobilization priorities and advance opportunities through the pipeline.
- Develop and maintain overview of key partners, donor priorities, funding cycles, and partnership modalities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with partners and support targeted engagement.
- Prepare and coordinate inputs for donor and partner meetings and resource mobilization activities.
- Coordinate development and follow-up of partnership opportunities from identification through project formulation and engagement approval.
- Support negotiation and refinement of project and partnership documentation.
- Coordinate preparation and consolidation of project documentation, budgets, legal agreements, and other information for new engagements.
- Contribute to quality assurance of new engagements by reviewing information and facilitating internal reviews and approvals.
- Monitor and analyze resource mobilization pipeline and provide updates and recommendations.
- Contribute to development and implementation of strategic positioning, partnership, and resource mobilization priorities.
- Analyze development trends, government priorities, donor strategies, and socio-economic developments to identify strategic opportunities.
- Contribute to development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic and country action plans.
- Identify emerging sectors, financing priorities, market trends, and potential partnerships.
- Prepare analytical and strategic inputs to inform management decisions and external engagements.
- Support preparation and implementation of strategic missions and high-level stakeholder engagements.
- Facilitate internal coordination and information sharing on strategic positioning and resource mobilization.
- Contribute to identification of lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen partnerships and resource mobilization.
- Provide communication and knowledge-management support to partnership, resource mobilization, and project development activities.
- Contribute to visibility and positioning of UNOPS through events, publications, digital platforms, and outreach activities.
- Support knowledge management by maintaining information, documenting engagement outcomes, and sharing lessons learned.
- Support preparation of meeting minutes, summaries, and follow-up trackers for partnership and project development discussions.
- Ensure partnership, project development, and resource mobilization information is accurately maintained in UNOPS systems and databases.
- Contribute to internal reporting on partnership development, resource mobilization, project pipeline, and strategic positioning.
- Provide coordination and substantive support to cross-functional initiatives related to partnerships, resource mobilization, and project development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Partnerships and Communication Team Lead.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in international affairs, business administration, or development studies.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in international affairs, business administration, or development studies.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, or project development is required with a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working directly with internal and external partners, including Governments and international donors.
- Experience in professional proposal writing.
- Previous experience in North Africa (desired).
- Good knowledge of Google Suite tools and experience in handling web-based management systems (desired).
- Experience in UNOPS or other UN agencies (desired).
