The ICT Officer – Geospatial Analyst provides geospatial and image intelligence services to support emergency response, peace operations, and political missions worldwide. The role involves applying advanced geospatial, imagery, and analytical techniques to support situational awareness, operational planning, and decision-making in complex environments, ensuring compliance with UN policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of Geospatial Intelligence (GeoINT) products and operational geo-analytics to support UN peacekeeping, political, and humanitarian decision-making.
  • Conduct event-based geospatial analysis before and after incidents using multi-temporal satellite imagery and spatial analysis techniques.
  • Contribute to Image Intelligence (IMINT) analysis to assess impacts on populated areas using various imagery types.
  • Deliver integrated IMINT / GEOINT / OSINT analysis combining multiple data sources to support situational awareness and operational planning.
  • Conduct advanced spatial, temporal, and terrain analysis including time-series analysis, change detection, hotspot analysis, and pattern identification.
  • Build spatiotemporal analytical models to monitor conflict dynamics and related indicators.
  • Contribute to OSINT-enabled geospatial investigations to corroborate imagery findings and provide contextual intelligence.
  • Apply data science, machine learning, and spatial statistics to support predictive geospatial risk assessments and early warning.
  • Help develop and apply innovative geospatial and image analysis methodologies including GeoAI and machine learning techniques.
  • Support design and implementation of automated geospatial pipelines and scalable analytical workflows.
  • Integrate multi-sensor and multi-source data into reproducible analytical environments with proper documentation.
  • Leverage emerging geospatial technologies and cloud-based analytical platforms while maintaining expert human analysis.
  • Assist in developing automated hotspot detection and Area of Concern identification workflows.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to translate operational needs into analytical requirements.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across analytical, technical, and operational teams.
  • Integrate multi-source findings into clear, decision-ready analytical assessments and operational narratives.
  • Assist in producing high-quality geospatial intelligence outputs including maps, annotated imagery, dashboards, and reports using ESRI and related tools.
  • Apply quality assurance and validation procedures to ensure analytical rigor and reliability of geospatial products.
  • Ensure compliance with UN standards, operational requirements, and information management protocols.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required within the scope of services.
