See your match score & applyThe Biomedical Engineering Technician - Associate supports health project teams in coordinating, verifying, installing, and implementing preventive maintenance of medical equipment. The role involves traveling to various regions in Madagascar to assist with evaluation, monitoring, coordination, reception, installation, and quality assurance of medical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Support the multidisciplinary technical UNOPS team assigned to the project execution.
- Assist site visits - verification of hospital spaces in preparation for equipment reception.
- Support the drafting of technical reports with emphasis on medical technology.
- Support coordination and monitoring of deliveries, installations, and commissioning of medical equipment within beneficiary health institutions.
- Support drafting of compliance/preparation status reports of beneficiary sites for provisional acceptance.
- Support quality assurance activities planned under the UNOPS mandate.
- Support follow-up and coordination efforts with various suppliers.
- Support the establishment of a preventive maintenance program.
- Work closely with the health unit administrative support team to optimize activities, especially logistics.
- Perform other tasks to facilitate project deliverables execution.
- Support training activities for local biomedical technicians.
- Support inventory activities and deployment of computerized maintenance management system (GMAO).
Requirements
- A secondary school diploma (BAC) is required.
- An engineering degree in biomedical engineering, electrotechnics, electronics, electromechanics or equivalent, or a university bachelor's degree (BAC+3) is desirable.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering with a BAC is required.
- One (1) year of work experience is required for candidates with an engineering degree in biomedical engineering, electrotechnics, electronics, electromechanics, electrical or equivalent.
- Internship experience in a hospital environment is desirable.
- Fluent proficiency in French is required.
- Basic proficiency in English is desirable.
- Basic proficiency in Malagasy is desirable.
