Technical Report Writing Consultant (Gender equality annual reports)

The consultant will support the compilation and drafting of key written products fulfilling institutional and interagency reporting obligations related to gender equality. This includes reports for the UN System-Wide Action Plan, UNICEF Executive Board, and Global Annual Results Report, targeting diverse audiences and requiring rapid turnaround.

Responsibilities

• Support the compilation and drafting of key written products fulfilling institutional and interagency reporting obligations.
• Draft the report on the UN System-Wide Action Plan tracking UN entities performance on gender equality for the Chief Executives Board for Coordination.
• Draft the Annual Report on progress on the Gender Equality Action Plan submitted to the UNICEF Executive Board alongside the Executive Director’s Annual Report.
• Draft the Global Annual Results Report meant principally for donors, partners and the general public.
• Compile content from various sources into high-quality products with strictly defined formats and tight timelines requiring rapid turnaround.

Requirements

• Masters in Social Sciences; Gender Studies; International Relations/Affairs; Public Policy; Communications
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience
• Must demonstrate excellent writing skills with specific experience writing reports on gender related issues, including gender and health or education
• Experience in work environment of an international agency, UN, or other international institution
• Be able to work independently as well as with a team in an international, multicultural and interdisciplinary environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
• Abidance by Do No Harm principles and ethics
• Ability to use MS Windows, MS Powerpoint, Sharepoint etc
• Ability to work within tight deadlines
• Full fluence in English is a must. Working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
• Past experience with UNICEF in children’s rights, women and girls’ empowerment, gender equality is an advantage
