The Social and Behaviour Change Officer contributes to programme strategies addressing cognitive, social, and structural determinants of behaviors in development and humanitarian contexts. The role supports implementation and monitoring of SBC strategies related to girls’ empowerment, ensuring continuity of programme delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support to strategy design and development of SBC activities.
  • Support to implementation of SBC activities.
  • Advocacy, networking and partnership building.
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Communication Studies, Communication for Development, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience in Social Development Programme Planning, Communication for Development, Social Behaviour Change, Public Advocacy, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in Programme Planning, Community Engagement, Strategic Communication, Partnership Building, Financial Management, and Reporting required.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
  • Knowledge of International Organizations, Gender Equality, Girls Empowerment, Civil Society Partnerships, Behavioral Science Research, and Communication Development is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
