See your match score & applyThe Social & Behavior Change Coordinator provides technical and operational support for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of SBC interventions across sectors. The role contributes to strengthening community engagement, supporting behavior change initiatives, and enhancing accountability mechanisms, while ensuring alignment with UNICEF programme priorities and standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and operationalization of evidence-based SBC strategies and plans across programme sectors.
- Contribute to situation analysis, including behavioral, social, and cultural assessments.
- Lead the integrating SBC approaches into programme design and planning processes.
- Lead the implementation of SBC activities in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
- Lead community engagement initiatives and outreach activities targeting vulnerable populations.
- Lead the development and dissemination of SBC materials and tools.
- Lead coordination with implementing partners, civil society organizations, and community structures.
- Participate in field monitoring and provide technical support to partners.
- Contribute to maintaining effective collaboration with government counterparts and inter-agency platforms.
- Lead the collection and analysis of community feedback and perceptions.
- Co-lead social listening efforts to identify barriers, concerns, and misinformation.
- Contribute to the strengthening accountability to affected populations (AAP) mechanisms and feedback loops.
- Lead monitoring of SBC interventions and contribute to reporting processes.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and documentation of results.
- Contribute to internal reporting, donor updates, and knowledge management.
- Co-lead the design and lead the delivery of capacity-building activities for partners and frontline workers.
- Provide technical inputs on SBC methodologies and tools.
- Contribute to strengthening capacities for SBC programming across sectors.
Requirements
- A University Degree in social and behavioural science, sociology, anthropology, psychology, education, communication, public relations, political science, international relations or other related social science field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Social & Behavior Change, community engagement, communication for development, or related fields with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing behaviour change and community engagement interventions is required.
- Experience working in humanitarian, emergency, or complex development contexts; engaging diverse stakeholders and communities; and coordinating within multi-sectoral environments is required.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Knowledge of French or any other UN language is an asset.
- Previous UNICEF experience, particularly in SBC, Community Engagement, AAP, or RCCE programming, is a strong asset.
