Roster of Simultaneous Interpreters (English-to-Thai and Thai-to-English)

UNICEF Thailand is establishing a roster of pre-qualified simultaneous interpreters for English-Thai and Thai-English interpretation services to support meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events. Consultants will provide interpretation services both remotely and in-person as needed, primarily supporting the Social Policy Section but potentially other sections as well.

Responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, conferences, consultations, and other events.
• Provide simultaneous interpretation through online platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar virtual meeting platforms.
• Provide interpretation services during in-person events organized or supported by UNICEF Thailand.
• Review relevant background materials in advance to ensure accurate and context-appropriate interpretation.
• Coordinate with UNICEF focal points and event organizers regarding interpretation requirements and event logistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, languages, linguistics, social sciences, or another relevant field.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional experience providing simultaneous interpretation services in Thai and English.
• Excellent oral communication and simultaneous interpretation skills in both Thai and English.
• Demonstrated experience providing interpretation services through virtual platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and flexibility in working with diverse stakeholders.
• Previous work experience with UNICEF, United Nations agencies, international organizations, or development partners.
• Familiarity with child rights, social policy, social development, education, public health, or related development issues.
• Consultants residing in Bangkok or with the ability to provide in-person support in Bangkok on short notice is considered an additional asset.
