The Programme Assistant provides a broad range of administrative, operational, and procedural support to the section, facilitating the implementation, monitoring, and delivery of programme results by ensuring timely and effective execution of tasks aligned with UNICEF rules and regulations. The incumbent supports programme areas or cross-functional initiatives and coordinates with other sections.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • Minimum five years of relevant administrative, programme support, or clerical work experience required.
  • Project Management, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Digital Dexterity skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of English is considered a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in functions comparable to a Programme Assistant role within UNICEF or the United Nations system is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working in international organizations, preferably within the UN system is desirable.
  • Experience using SAP and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application in administrative and operational processes is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating duty travel, including travel planning, logistics, and related administrative processes is desirable.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
