The Partnerships Officer supports engagement with key stakeholders and contributes to environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence. The role provides research, analytical, and coordination support to enhance UNICEF's visibility and mission achievement in South Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Partnership Specialists and senior management in supporting engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence within the scope of assignment.
  • Gather, analyse and report information to draw out fact-based insights to inform approaches to partner relationships and support substantive discussion with partners.
  • Capture relevant information and progress and ensure internal information sharing.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to partners to strengthen the credibility of the organization and increase resources.
  • Support senior management to increase funding opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in International Studies, Political Science, Communications, International Development, International Relations, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience in Programme Management, Partnership management, resource mobilization, donor relations, external relations, stakeholder engagement, interagency coordination, policy analysis, international development, communications, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or knowledge of at least one other official local language is an asset.
  • Experience in fundraising and partnership management.
  • Experience with UNICEF and the broader UN system is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the private sector landscape in South Africa is an advantage.
  • Experience donor communication.
  • Experience drafting proposals and donor reports.
  • Experience leading field visits with donors.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
