The Partnerships Manager will drive UNICEF’s engagement in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collective action initiatives, mobilizing private sector partners to advance child rights at scale. The role involves strategic partnership development, portfolio management, cross-organizational coordination, and capacity building to maximize impact and deliver sustainable results for children worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Drive UNICEF’s engagement in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collective action initiatives.
  • Mobilize the influence and resources of private sector partners to advance child rights at scale.
  • Lead strategic partnership development and portfolio management.
  • Coordinate cross-organizational efforts to maximize impact and strengthen collaboration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support related to partnerships.
  • Build capacity within the organization and partners for effective partnership management.
  • Manage communications and knowledge management related to partnerships.

Requirements

  • Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in International Development, Business Management, External Relations, Strategic Partnerships or another relevant technical field.
  • A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in Partnerships Development, Stakeholder Management, Advocacy with Business, and any other related fields.
  • Experience in effectively working with diverse groups of stakeholders and working in complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships and initiatives involving the private sector, whether within UN, public sector, or non-governmental organizations, or vice versa within the private sector is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and managing team is required.
  • Knowledge of current theories and practice in private sector engagement, with a particular focus on collective action, multi-stakeholder partnerships, private sector influence and advocacy with business.
  • Proven experience and ability to develop, lead, and effectively manage relationships with partners and senior leadership.
  • Proven experience and ability to develop and implement strategies, plans and guidance related to partnerships.
  • Track record of managing a portfolio of partnerships from inception to implementation.
  • Experience and ability to develop and present proposals and presentations on partnerships.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Experience working in UN organizations or international organizations is an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
