The Operations Assistant supports the effective delivery of ICT, administrative, and premises management services within UNICEF Argentina Country Office. The role involves providing technical assistance, coordinating operational processes, and ensuring the reliability of office systems and infrastructure to support UNICEF programme objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level ICT support including logging and processing service requests.
  • Maintain physical and logical ICT infrastructure security.
  • Support events with ICT and audiovisual equipment.
  • Provide hardware and software support to users.
  • Assist in ICT initiatives implementation.
  • Maintain inventories and documentation.
  • Install, configure and maintain ICT systems.
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc ICT reports.
  • Track service requests lifecycle in management systems.
  • Support training and capacity building initiatives.
  • Keep users informed on request status.
  • Support SharePoint, OneDrive and related platforms.
  • Monitor premises conditions and assets daily.
  • Coordinate maintenance, suppliers, and repairs.
  • Supervise outsourced services (security, cleaning, reception).
  • Support staff on premises-related needs.
  • Maintain inventories of common areas.
  • Act as on-site focal point for operational issues.

Requirements

  • Completed secondary education is required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, IT support, Service desk, Network administration, Systems administration, Audiovisual support, Facilities management, Vendor management, Asset management, Inventory management and any other related fields.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Intermediate level knowledge of English are required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
  • Completed formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering is desirable.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
