The Nutrition Specialist Cluster Coordinator will ensure strategic and technical coordination of the Nutrition Cluster in Mali to guarantee an effective, coherent, and needs-based nutrition response. The role involves coordination among government and humanitarian partners, needs analysis, planning and monitoring interventions, sectoral information management, advocacy, resource mobilization, capacity building, quality standards promotion, and emergency response coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in emergency nutrition.
  • Coordinate the Nutrition Cluster.
  • Prepare and respond to emergencies.
  • Manage information and analyze data.
  • Engage in strategic planning and advocacy.
  • Strengthen capacities of actors.
  • Coordinate intersectorally.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in nutrition, public health, medicine, epidemiology, social sciences or related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in nutrition programs in humanitarian and/or development contexts.
  • Proven experience in coordination of humanitarian sectors or working groups, preferably within the cluster system.
  • Good knowledge of nutrition issues, humanitarian coordination mechanisms, and international standards (Sphere, IASC, Cluster Approach).
  • Experience in needs analysis, strategic planning, monitoring interventions, and information management.
  • Strong skills in representation, advocacy, facilitation, and partnership management with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors.
  • Fluent French language proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language (English, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
  • Experience with humanitarian needs overview, humanitarian response plans, rapid multisectoral assessments, dashboard production, coverage mapping, and intersectoral coordination.
  • Relevant country-level experience, especially in development, fragile, and humanitarian contexts.
