Under the overall guidance of the Nutrition Manager, the candidate will provide technical support for nutrition interventions at national and sub-national levels, support implementation of Nutrition SBC Strategy and Food System interventions, manage organizational resources, and monitor results to improve child nutrition outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support nutrition programme development, planning and implementation.
  • Provide technical support and coordination for the efficient and effective implementation of nutrition programmes and results.
  • Manage nutrition programme monitoring and quality assurance.
  • Facilitate effective partnership and networking, advocacy and information sharing for resource mobilization and implementation of nutrition programmes.
  • Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in food science and technology, nutrition, food system, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.
  • An advanced university degree in any of the above programmes is an asset.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in health and nutrition programmes.
  • Experience in implementing nutrition or food systems strengthening programmes.
  • Skills in grants management, emergency preparedness, policy and advocacy, partnership development.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Experience of working in agri-food or livestock sector is an asset.
  • Working experience for the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
