Manage a multidisciplinary nutrition team and oversee a diverse portfolio including policy, advocacy, financing, systems strengthening, social behaviour change, and emergency preparedness.
Responsibilities
- Provide management and advisory support to the Chief of Health and Nutrition.
- Lead programme development and planning for nutrition initiatives.
- Manage programme monitoring and delivery of results.
- Provide advisory services and technical support on nutrition.
- Engage in advocacy, networking and partnership building with government and development partners.
- Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity building within the nutrition team and programmes.
Requirements
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in nutrition and dietetics, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field.
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
- Experience in international organisations, emergency response, and results-based management are valuable assets.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
