Responsibilities
- Attend mission briefings.
- Mobilize on short notice.
- Travel to remote areas; operate drone when required.
- Capture RAW + JPEG high-res images (24–36 MP).
- Ensure compliance with UNICEF child safeguarding and consent.
- Provide edited, captioned, metadata-complete images.
- Provide high-quality, ethically produced photography packages showcasing UNICEF-supported programmes and results for children in Viet Nam.
- Support rapid-response missions, including emergencies.
- Provide short-form video snippets when required.
- Maintain full confidentiality in all aspects of assignment, management of information and follow-up on deadlines and commitments.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent in the field of multimedia/communication/marketing.
- Minimum five years of progressive relevant experience in photography and photo editing.
- Proven experience photographing children, communities, and sensitive contexts in Viet Nam.
- Good quality of previous work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to facilitate and communicate effectively to technical and nontechnical audiences and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and make sound, informed decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in team, under pressure and in crisis situations.
- Flexibility for rapid deployment on short notice.
- Fluent English (verbal and written) is a must.
- Ability to produce high-resolution RAW + JPEG images meeting UNICEF technical requirements.
- Ability to operate professional photography equipment, including backup equipment for field assignments.
- Capacity to provide short-form video snippets when required, particularly for emergency or rapid-response assignments.
- Ability to deliver edited, captioned and metadata-complete image packages.
- Quality of previous work, including composition, lighting, colour, authenticity and storytelling.
- Evidence of ethical and respectful representation of children, communities and sensitive contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to produce image sets suitable for communication, fundraising, reporting, print, web and social media use.
- Fluent English, including ability to provide captions and credit lines in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, work effectively in a team, and remain available for rapid deployment on short notice.
- If the LTA includes the optional fees for travel assignments, then BSAFE Course: BSAFE (English) will be a mandatory course requirement to be added to the list of certificates to be uploaded at the time of application.
