Inclusive Social Protection and Training Expert Consultant

Provide technical expertise and capacity-building support to UNICEF’s inclusive social protection portfolio, focusing on gender-responsive social protection in Asia and Africa. Support delivery of activities on inclusive social protection systems strengthening and intersections with care, climate resilience, and child marriage prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and capacity-building support to UNICEF’s inclusive social protection portfolio.
• Focus on capacity-building and training on gender-responsive social protection in Asia and Africa.
• Support delivery of activities on gender-responsive social protection including inclusive social protection systems strengthening.
• Address intersections with care and support, climate resilience, and child marriage prevention.
• Provide technical advising on inclusive social protection systems strengthening.
• Facilitate capacity building and training with government and partners.
• Conduct analysis and develop technical resources.

Requirements

• An advanced university degree in social sciences, international development, or a closely related field, required.
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience.
• Experience working in Asia and Africa.
• Demonstrated expertise on social protection systems.
• Demonstrated expertise on gender-responsive programming.
• Demonstrated expertise on care and support systems.
• Demonstrated expertise on child marriage prevention.
• Demonstrated expertise on climate resilience.
• Demonstrated experience in technical advising on inclusive social protection systems strengthening.
• Demonstrated experience in capacity building and training facilitation with government and partners.
• Demonstrated experience in analysis and resource development.
• Familiarity with UNICEF's work on social protection, care, and gender, or equivalent experience within the UN system or comparable international organization, is desirable.
• Availability during working hours providing at least four hours overlap with Bangkok time.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of another UN language is preferred.
