Health & Nutrition Officer (NO-2)

As a Health & Nutrition Officer, you provide professional technical assistance and support for programme/project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of programme/project activities. This includes data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking, and capacity building, all in support of achieving the planned objectives of the work plan aligned with Health & Nutrition programme goals and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional technical assistance and support for programme/project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of programme/project activities.
• Ensure accurate information, data analysis, and documentation are timely made available to support situation analysis, sectoral input and reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to the development and implementation of integrated Health & Nutrition strategies and approaches through participation and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Establish work plan and objectives effectively and deliver planned results timely through technical support and coordination in consultation with all relevant partners.
• Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through effective implementation follow-up.
• Monitor project implementation progress for adjustment and improvement of program delivery and sustainability.
• Ensure transparency for supply and non-supply assistance and disbursement of programme funds for Health & Nutrition.
• Maintain effective partnership and working relationships for advocacy, technical coordination, information sharing and knowledge networking.
• Keep up-to-date programme information available and prepare reports shared with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain emergency preparedness, and in emergencies, provide emergency responses with effective coordination in line with the Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) in Humanitarian Action.

Requirements

• Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Social Development, Community Development, or other related fields.
• Minimum two years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health programmes.
• Professional work experience in a programme management function or a technical expert capacity in child survival & health care.
• Field work experience Background/familiarity with Emergency.
• Strong skills in programme analysis, statistical methods, project management, and up-to-date technology knowledge are required.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
• Desirable attributes include field work experience, emergency preparedness, cluster coordination, interagency coordination, knowledge of the Core Commitments for Children, and gender equality and diversity awareness.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
