The consultant will support the Accelerated Disease Control team within the Immunization programme to strengthen monitoring, outbreak intelligence, prevention, response, partnership coordination, and evidence generation for vaccine-preventable diseases affecting children and caregivers. The role aims to improve real-time programme monitoring and enable data-driven decision making to accelerate disease control and immunization programme strengthening.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate technical and programmatic work to strengthen programme implementation monitoring and performance.
  • Support outbreak monitoring and intelligence activities.
  • Contribute to outbreak prevention, preparedness and response efforts.
  • Manage and coordinate partnerships related to disease control and immunization.
  • Generate and translate evidence to support vaccine-preventable disease control and immunization programmes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in immunization programme management, outbreak preparedness and response, pandemic preparedness, implementation monitoring, evidence generation and disease prevention.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and data systems experience.
  • Knowledge of immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working with UNICEF, WHO, CDC or Gavi is desirable.
