The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Education, Psychology, Sociology and any other related fields.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Education Programme Management, Humanitarian Assistance, Education Governance, Early Childhood Education, Access to Education, Education Information and Data Management, Non-formal Education, Learning Outcomes Improvement and any other related fields.
  • Experience in education programme planning, education programme implementation, programme monitoring, partnership development, disaster risk reduction and knowledge management.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic languages is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Relevant experience with UN system agency or organization is an asset.
  • Experience with education in emergencies is an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
