The role includes supporting administrative tasks and engaging in self-directed learning during non-driving periods, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, integrity, and adaptability.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reliable driving services.
- Perform routine vehicle care, maintenance and readiness checks.
- Use digital tools and tracking systems for vehicle management.
- Document and report trips accurately.
- Maintain communication and emergency readiness.
- Support office operations during idle periods.
Requirements
- A secondary education is required, along with a valid driver`s license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
- Driving, Awareness and Coordination competencies are required.
- Fluency in French is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
- Experience with vehicle tracking systems, VHF HF radios, vehicle recovery tools, airport protocol and mobility tool proficiency are assets.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
