Consultant (e) National en épidémiologie nutritionnelle et analyse des facteurs de risque de la malnutrition

The consultant will provide technical support for an in-depth analysis of nutritional epidemiology and risk factors of malnutrition in Madagascar, focusing on data from recent SMART and MICS surveys. The study aims to identify key risk factors, evaluate their relative contribution, and propose operational recommendations while strengthening national capacities in nutritional and epidemiological analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the analysis of nutritional epidemiology and risk factors of malnutrition using data from SMART 2026, MICS and SMART Antananarivo 2025 surveys
• Identify main risk factors associated with malnutrition in six districts of Antananarivo and other areas depending on data availability
• Prioritize explanatory factors of malnutrition and evaluate their relative contribution
• Propose operational recommendations adapted to the specific context of each area
• Contribute to strengthening national capacities in nutritional and epidemiological analysis through skills transfer to government teams (INSTAT, SNUT, ONN) to promote ownership of methods and sustainability of future analyses

Requirements

• Master in Statistique / Biostatistique / Épidémiologie
• At least five years of relevant professional experience in management and advanced data analysis, including application of statistical and econometric methods on nutritional and multisectoral data (mandatory)
• Ability to analyze data from different sources
• Proficiency in analysis software (Stata, R or equivalent)
• Ability to produce synthetic reports, dashboards and information sheets to support decision-making
• Fluency in French
• English language skills are an asset
