The role involves managerial leadership, collaboration with health and WASH sections, and ensuring sustainable nutrition outcomes for maternal, infant, and child health.
Responsibilities
- Provide managerial leadership for the nutrition programme, including supervision and guidance of the Nutrition team.
- Lead programme development and strategic planning for nutrition interventions.
- Manage programme implementation, monitoring, and quality control to ensure results are achieved.
- Provide advisory services and technical support related to nutrition.
- Engage in advocacy, networking, and partnership building to support nutrition goals.
- Promote innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the nutrition programme.
Requirements
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, Global/International Health and Nutrition, Health/Nutrition Research, Policy and/or Management, Health Sciences, Nutritional Epidemiology or another health-related science field.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutrition Policy, Health Systems, Food Systems, Humanitarian Nutrition and any other related fields.
- Proven experience in managerial leadership, advocacy, partnership building and strategic thinking.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
- Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is desirable.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
