See your match score & applyThe consultant will support the implementation of the social work project budgeting for the New Growth Acceleration Program for the Urbanization of Favelas in Santo André, Brazil. Responsibilities include preparing budget breakdowns, participating in technical meetings, ensuring compliance with UN-Habitat standards, and maintaining information systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the budget breakdown and the physical and financial schedule for the social work to be carried out before, during, and after the construction phase of the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program for the Urbanization of Favelas).
- Participate in technical alignment meetings with the Social Work team at Periferia Viva Santo André / Nova Centreville.
- Ensure compliance with UN-Habitat quality standards and project requirements, ensuring consistency with expected outcomes.
- Complete all courses and training activities indicated by supervisor, including UNDSS BSAFE security course within the first month.
- Ensure adoption of ethical principles during consultancy, including active listening, respect for diversity, and promotion of a safe, inclusive, and participatory environment.
- Maintain an orderly and accessible information file system on information and produced data.
- Assist implementation of the project according to stated responsibilities and deliverables including technical workshop alignment and reports, social work project budgeting and physical and financial schedules for phases 1 and 2, and a technical note on the physical and financial schedule for social work planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences or related fields is required.
- Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in coordination of social work, technical assistance or advisory initiatives for slum upgrading plans or projects in Brazil is required.
- Previous experience in preparing budgets and physical-financial schedules for Social Work Planning (Projeto de Trabalho Social - PTS) in slum upgrading plans or projects in Brazil is required.
- Previous experience within or with the United Nations System is desirable.
- Good computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Web search engines are required.
- Mastery of technological tools and use of software and online platforms is required.
- Mastery of online event and conference tools is desirable.
- Experience working in an inter-institutional environment, project management, monitoring-evaluation; approaches and strategies regarding good urban governance and local and regional development.
- Professional approach to work, strong sense of responsibility, operate with minimal supervision; proven organizational skills and ability to manage a workload efficiently and within set deadlines.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively; listen to others, interpret messages correctly and respond appropriately; show openness in information sharing and keep everyone informed; solid abstract reasoning skills together with a proven capacity to write documents for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work with teams, demonstrate leadership, conflict management and consensus facilitation skills; ability to work in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment, and to respect diversity; sensitivity to the main streaming of vulnerability; willingness and ability to work in difficult environments.
- Knowledge of the processes, procedures, and norms of UN-Habitat to guarantee adequate quality of activities.
- Ability to propose formats and procedures that allow efficient implementation of project activities.
- Ability to maintain and ensure accessibility and updating of the Office file system.
- Ability to prepare databases related to project running.
- Ensure that all relevant technical information is adequately shared with the correspondent staff.
- Ensure that all produced material is fit-for-purpose and delivered in an organized way for consultation and use of the Agency.
- Ensure privacy of the content and share information only with the team agency.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required.
- Working knowledge of English is desirable.
