Quality Assurance Consultant - Manual Testing & Load Testing

The consultant will support the UN-Habitat Colombia Office in quality assurance activities related to a national solid waste management project in Bolivia. Responsibilities include manual and load testing of software modules, coordination with development teams, and ensuring quality standards are met for project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with SIGIR Team to obtain user stories and functional requirements for each module under test.
• Create Test Plans documenting testing strategy, approach, and scope for each product.
• Design and document Test Cases based on user stories.
• Execute manual tests (functional and exploratory) across all assigned modules.
• Elaborate structured Bug Reports with reproduction steps, severity, and priority.
• Elaborate Test Execution Reports with quality metrics.
• Perform bug tracking and follow-up on defect resolution status.
• Coordinate with SIGIR Team for test case validation and product sign-off.
• Execute load testing scenarios for Web Portal, Recoverer/Recycler Portal, and Mobile App.
• Ensure products are truly ready before advancing to production or next stage through comprehensive testing and validation.
• Keep the HUB Coordinator informed and obtain validation of activities in the full project cycle.

Requirements

• A first degree in areas related to computer science, systems engineering, or related fields is required.
• Additional relevant certifications in Software Testing and/or Quality Assurance, or equivalent is desirable.
• A minimum two (2) years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance and Manual Testing.
• Demonstrated experience in Designing and executing test cases based on user stories, Functional and exploratory testing, is required.
• Experience coordinating with development teams and product owners is required.
• English and Spanish language proficiency is required.
• Knowledge of another UN Official Language is desirable.
