See your match score & applyThe Communications and Innovation Analyst at UNFPA Kyrgyzstan advances the organization's mandate and country programme priorities through external communication, advocacy, and programme communication strategies. The role involves monitoring political, social, and economic developments, managing media relations, supporting innovation initiatives, and strengthening partnerships for resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse the political, social and economic environment relevant to UNFPA’s work and public perception in media.
- Guide internal and external communications to engage staff and publics around strategic goals.
- Coordinate development of communication and advocacy strategy and action plan with programme teams.
- Maintain collaboration with traditional and social media, civil society groups to achieve advocacy objectives.
- Draft and edit articles, press releases, social media content and other advocacy materials.
- Coordinate maintenance of UNFPA Kyrgyzstan website and social media accounts.
- Prepare communication materials for briefings and visits of journalists, donors, and officials.
- Organize public support for special events promoting country programme goals.
- Oversee production quality of advocacy materials such as films, infographics, podcasts, ensuring compliance with UNFPA standards.
- Monitor dissemination and impact of advocacy materials and provide feedback to Regional Office and Headquarters.
- Maintain documentation center for publications and media materials.
- Participate in UN Communications Group under UNCT in Kyrgyzstan.
- Support UNFPA innovation priorities including strengthening innovation architecture and partnerships.
- Lead implementation of programme initiatives for awareness, community engagement, and promotion of reproductive health and gender equality.
- Build capacity of national partners and CSOs in communication approaches for behaviour and social norms change.
- Monitor and evaluate awareness raising and behaviour change initiatives.
- Conduct communication research to understand target audiences.
- Advise on partnerships with donor communities and support resource mobilization.
- Contribute to Resource Leverage and Partnership Strategy for Country Programme.
- Facilitate reporting on results and increase visibility of UNFPA programmes and joint initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the UNFPA Head of Office.
Requirements
- Advanced University degree or equivalent master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related social science field.
- Prior experience in the field of communication and advocacy on social issues, media relationship management, digital media, resource mobilization and communication for behavior and social change are considered as an advantage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of communication approaches, tools and methodologies.
- Professional experience in programme/ project management as an advantage.
- Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods, particularly with UNFPA agenda, policies and procedures is an asset.
- Fluency in oral and written English, Russian and Kyrgyz is required.
