See your match score & applyThe consultant will support the design and implementation of capacity building activities for decision makers, educational leaders, teachers, and students in digital transformation projects, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education executed by UNESCO Santiago through its Unit of Skills for Life and Work. The role involves reviewing and improving capacity building components, designing monitoring frameworks, coordinating with partners, and supporting communication and dissemination activities.
Responsibilities
- Review and propose improvements to capacity building components and activities for decision makers, educational leaders, teachers, and students in digital transformation, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education projects executed by UNESCO Santiago through the Unit of Skills for Life and Work.
- Design baselines and monitoring indicator frameworks to track the performance of capacity building components in the projects and prepare technical, progress, and final reports.
- Adapt UNESCO's methodological approaches and action frameworks for digital transformation, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education to national or regional contexts.
- Coordinate cooperation with UNESCO Santiago partners involved in the training portfolio of the Unit of Skills for Life and Work and seek synergies to enhance the training offer.
- Identify capacity building strategies in digital competencies, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education based on successful international experiences targeting decision makers, educational leaders, and teachers.
- Design and manage the formation of learning communities around digital talent, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education within the Unit's project portfolio.
- Organize meetings, conferences, seminars, webinars, and other events for exchanging experiences and best practices, preparing necessary materials such as concept notes, reports, presentations, agendas, and minutes.
- Prepare terms of reference and support selection, contracting, and execution of services needed for implementing capacity building components of the Unit's projects.
- Monitor cooperation actions with strategic partners to implement capacity building components.
- Support the design and planning of new projects for strengthening digital competencies, Technical Education, and Youth and Adult Education for social and labor inclusion, including resource mobilization.
- Support communication and dissemination activities related to project implementation.
- Assist in preparing publications and other documents related to project activities and components.
- Maintain updated digital repository related to project activities and components.
- Perform other relevant tasks related to project activities and components implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, political sciences, public policies, or related fields relevant to UNESCO competencies.
- Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in educational policies, project management, digital education or technologies applied to education.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in managing education and digital transformation projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing training and innovative teaching methodologies and designing digital policies for education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects in international and intergovernmental organizations.
- Experience coordinating with governmental entities, international organizations, private sector, and civil society actors.
- Experience in social and institutional context analysis and participatory diagnostic methodologies.
- Understanding of the 2030 Agenda and SDG4.
- Skills in strategic planning, project cycle management, accountability, database construction, and monitoring indicator frameworks.
- Knowledge of public educational policies with emphasis on educational innovation and trends in digital education and ICT training.
- Knowledge of the educational reality of Latin America and the Caribbean, especially challenges of digital policies for education and AI application in education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documents, reports, or research supporting the design and execution of digital talent projects for social and labor inclusion.
- Experience coordinating interinstitutional work teams.
- Experience organizing meetings, seminars, conferences, forums, and other events in person or virtually.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish good working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Fluency in Spanish.
