Consultant National for Regional Mapping of STEM Education in Cabo Verde

The consultant will ensure quality data collection for the regional mapping of STEM education in Cabo Verde, coordinating with the regional consultant and mobilizing national stakeholders. The role involves dissemination of the adapted questionnaire, monitoring response rates, providing methodological support, and reporting progress.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a methodological orientation session organized by the regional consultant
• Develop a national dissemination and mobilization plan in coordination with the regional consultant
• Identify key institutions and actors in the STEM ecosystem in Cabo Verde (basic, secondary and higher education, technical-professional training, private sector, civil society, development partners)
• Disseminate the adapted questionnaire (Portuguese version) to these actors
• Monitor and encourage respondent participation throughout the data collection period
• Clarify respondent doubts about the questionnaire in coordination with the regional consultant
• Regularly monitor response rates
• Report any difficulties or national context specifics to the regional consultant
• Prepare a final data collection report including process, response rate and limitations
• Provide additional clarifications to the regional consultant for regional analysis and reporting

Requirements

• Higher education (at least a Bachelor's degree) in education sciences, statistics, social sciences, STEM or related field
• Previous experience in data collection, surveys or studies in the education sector or related sectors in Cabo Verde
• Good knowledge of the education system and key actors in the STEM ecosystem in Cabo Verde
• Good communication and institutional partner mobilization skills
• Fluency in Portuguese (mandatory); knowledge of English or French is an asset
• Experience working with international organizations is an advantage
